Turning IMO and EU Regulation Into Action
Join us in Copenhagen on June 1, 2022 for another industry conference exclusively dedicated to the topic: Decarbonizing shipping. With key stakeholders like Maersk, MAN Energy Solution, EU DG Move and IMO among our speakers and delegates, the conference will focus on the next important steps in the journey towards zero-emission vessels.
The conference is number 2 in an ongoing series of similar events with the aim to gather the most relevant and interesting parties who work to shape the development towards ships that don’t emit CO2.
Topics to be debated are:
- How far is the shipping industry in decarbonizations efforts?
- What are challenges ahead, and how can they be solved?
- How can regulators push the development?
- What can the end users and shippers do?
The June conference takes place at a crucial moment with regards to maritime decarbonzation. The EU is expected to approve regulation later this year which will include shipping in its CO2 Cap and Trade program. Also, the FuelEU Maritime which prioritizes green fuels, will be introduced by the EU. Later in June the IMO celebrates its next meeting in the climate committee, MEPC, to discuss a levy on fossil fuels regarded as the single most important tool to decarbonize shipping.
The first conference was held in September 2021.
